Who writes this
I go by jooheesoo. I live in Seoul, and I write every guide here myself.
That is the whole team. There is no desk, no rotating staff, and no anonymous content pipeline. When a guide gets something wrong, it is my mistake and my correction.
What the labels mean
Living here is useful for checking things. It is not the same as having checked them, so I keep the two apart:
- Source-checked — I built the guide from primary information: airport operators, city governments, transport agencies, and national tourism bodies. Every source is linked at the bottom of the article and dated. Most guides on the site are this.
- Field-checked — I went and did the thing myself, and the guide says when. If a guide does not carry this label, assume I have not personally stood at that ticket machine recently.
I would rather tell you which one you are reading than let a confident tone imply more than I actually did.
What I publish
I focus on the high-friction parts of a Korea trip: airport arrivals, transport, payment, connectivity, reservations, and the small cultural details that are easy to miss. Each guide is built around one decision, and it opens with my answer rather than making you scroll for it.
How a guide gets made
- Start with a specific question a traveller actually has to answer.
- Check primary information from airports, city governments, transport operators, and national tourism organisations.
- Translate the rules into plain English and state the trade-offs, including the cases where my recommendation is the wrong one.
- Publish the review date and the source links alongside the guide.
My rule about AI
AI helps me organise source notes, compare drafts, format Markdown, and maintain the site. It is never treated as evidence.
I do not invent visits, conversations, prices, quotes, or “local testing.” If a sentence here describes something being done, someone did it. That rule is the reason the two labels above exist.
Corrections and updates
Travel information changes. Every practical guide displays an updated date and the sources used. Material corrections are noted in the article rather than silently edited away. Please confirm time-sensitive fares, schedules, eligibility, and entry rules with the official source before acting — and tell me when something has moved.
How the site is funded
The site is currently published without active advertising. It may later carry clearly identified display advertising or affiliate links. Commercial relationships will not determine what I recommend, and paid placement will always be labelled as such.
If I ever recommend something I earn from, the recommendation has to survive the question I would ask as a reader: would I still say this if there were no money in it?
